A milestone is a task with zero duration (0 days) that marks a significant point in time—project kickoff, phase completion, client review, etc.

Constraints control when a task can be scheduled:

Type	Meaning	Constraint Date	Use Case
ASAP	As Soon As Possible	None	Default; let CPM schedule
ALAP	As Late As Possible	None	Non-critical work
SNLT	Start No Later Than	Required	Task must start by date
SNET	Start No Earlier Than	Required	Can’t start before date
FNLT	Finish No Later Than	Required	Task must finish by date
FNET	Finish No Earlier Than	Required	Can’t finish before date
MSO	Must Start On	Required	Exact start date required
MSF	Must Finish On	Required	Exact finish date required
